CRA Business Account Registration (for Sole Proprietors and Corporations)

To allow us to prepare and file your business tax returns, you must have your CRA Business Account (My Business Account) set up and accessible through your CRA Account.

Please read through all instructions before starting to ensure a smooth process.

To proceed, you must already have an active CRA Individual Account.

Step 1: Log in to your CRA Account
Log in to your CRA Individual Account using the CRA Account sign-in page.

Step 2: Add your Business Account
Once logged in, click “Add account” and select “Business account” when prompted.

Step 3: Add your Business Number
You will be given two options: Business Registration Online or Add business number.

Select “Add business number” and enter your CRA Business Number (BN).

For sole proprietors, this is the BN associated with your GST/HST account.
For corporations, this is the BN associated with your corporate income tax account.

Follow the prompts to complete the setup.

Step 4: Confirm Account Access
After adding your business account, confirm that your GST/HST account (for sole proprietors) or your corporate tax account (for corporations) is visible. Review your business information to ensure it is accurate.

Please note that we cannot file returns on your behalf until we have access to the appropriate account or accounts.

Step 5: Authorize Our Firm
Once you have confirmed access to your business account, contact our office. We will provide step-by-step instructions on how to authorize our firm as your CRA representative for GST/HST accounts, corporate tax accounts, and any other applicable CRA business accounts.

CRA requires that the client complete the authorization themselves. We are unable to proceed until authorization has been submitted.

If you experience any issues while setting up your CRA Business Account, please contact CRA Business Enquiries directly at 1-800-959-5525.
